Civil Litigation

Civil litigation encompasses a wide area of the law. It includes all claims for personal injuries, consumer and commercial transactions, discriminatory practices, real estate contracts, landlord and tenant relationships, and various administrative claims brought before the social security administration, civil rights commission and student and neighborhood boards. Personal injury claims are further broken down to the manner injuries are received. They include automobile accidents, professional negligence (legal, medical and dental malpractice), products liability, catastrophic collisions involving semi trucks, premises liability (i.e. slip-and-fall cases) and construction casualties. These are just a few of the areas of the law in which the firm of Blakemore, Meeker & Bowler Co., L.P.A. practices.

The Firm has been in practice for over 38 years, beginning in 1969. The Firm has represented both sides of the dispute, plaintiffs and defendants, who are private parties, business entities and government agencies. A key factor in determining whether a litigant will have a successful or unsuccessful claim or defense is preparation for litigation. The members of the Firm have over 100 years of combined legal experience and are regarded in the legal community as well-versed and well-prepared litigators. They are licensed to practice before all courts of the State of Ohio, and members of the firm are certified to practice before selected United States District Courts and Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. From the filing of the initial pleadings of the case, the responsible attorney will immediately commence the discovery process to have the client's case positioned in its strongest possible light. The client can be sure that the attorney shall use his or her best efforts in prosecuting the client's claim or defense. Coupled with the client's confidence in the attorney is the attorney's continuing pursuit of the client's trust.
