Matt was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Matt graduated from Copley high school in 1999. In 2003 Matt graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kent State University with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. After college Matt moved to Morgantown, West Virginia to attend law school at West Virginia University.

In 2006, Matt received his J.D. from West Virginia. Matt was selected to the Order of the Barristers, an organization that recognizes excellence in oral advocacy. Along with finishing in the top 1/3 of his class, Matt was also one of six members of the school's National Moot Court team.

Upon graduation, Matt returned to his hometown of Akron to practice law. Matt passed the Ohio bar exam in July of 2006 and joined the firm as an associate. Matt practices Criminal Defense, Family Law, Business Organizations and Personal Injury.
